Good Soil?

The grass in my back yard is dying! Maybe its dead I dont know, I think I have snakes and animals burrowing under it, it is like caddyshack or bugs bunny and I see raised areas where I can tell animals are tunneling. The only thing that grows well are the weeds under my trampoline.

My life…..(pause for a while). Is my life like that? Am I growing? Are there things burrowing under in my heart that are killing my growth. What kind of soil am I Lord? This world is so distracting and it draws you in.

I am reading “Crazy Love”  by Francis Chan. Here is a quote. “Do not assume you are good soil. I think most American churchgoers are the soil that chokes the seed because of all the thorns. Thorns are anything that distracts us from God. When we want God and a bunch of other stuff, then that means we have thorns in our soil. A relationship with God simply cannot grow when money, sins, activities, favorite sports teams, addictions, or commitments are piled on top of it.”

Umm yeah. So what do I do about that? My grass is dying. That picture above is where your heart gets when you focus on the things of this world. But God has been doing a work in me. He has been breaking up that hardness and I am sensing His presence and Guidance more.

Hosea 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD,
until he comes and showers righteousness on you.

It is time to seek the Lord, I hope that God will show you what He has shown me. That it is time to seek Him. Dont assume you are good soil. I would say even assume you are not and ask God to break up your unplowed ground that He can bring the fruit of His unfailing love in your life.
