Well it is so cool, things seem to have worked out and the Van that was a constant reminder of how I need to be more cautious when making big purchases and of how foolish I can be with God’s money when I dont, well all that has changed for now. Thanks to a good friend in our church, the “Car Dealer” took back the vehicle and gave me my money : )
This situation was good for a few sermon illustrations and finally here it was a chance for me to talk to the truck driver about Jesus. His name was David, a man in his 50’s born in Cuba, with a bunch of cool stories like how he took the identity of a dead boy at a young age to get to america! Wow.
Anyway I asked him if he knew Jesus and he told me Christ is the only way that makes sense to him. He understood some things about Jesus but he felt that Jesus was the only way for him but maybe not everyone,(he didnt want to judge others ya know :)
Coincidentally I had just been teaching the student in John 5:23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. I told him that any religion that does not honor Jesus Christ as God doesnt work. He agreed and we had a prayer and a hug. He wrote the verse on his hand and jumped into his truck to look it up!
Honor the Son. I think that my conversation did that. It isnt always like that. Honor the Son. How we doing with that? Honor the Son. Isnt it the beat of your heart. May you Honor the Son in all you do today.
